Castlewood Canyon and Pueblo!

One of the perks of my data plan with T-Mobile is that I get "free" wi-fi at Starbucks and other T-Mobile hotspots! So I'm using that excuse to pop into Starbucks along the way (it has nothing to do with my chai addiction.. no really!)

The last couple of weeks have been super busy with getting the house ready to sold, but we finally made it! We got the paper work all signed yesterday, thanks Rita!

So Thursday I checked my pack by hiking around Castlewood Canyon. 25 pounds, while light for backpacking, still sucks. But it's manageable.

Here's my friend Roger and his furry companion Pippy. We had a great hike that day, weather was awesome!

Yesterday we made it to Pueblo, had fun with my cousin Vance, his finace Lisa and her daughter Davin, and her niece Destiny. Bev and I tested out car camping about 20 minutes from them at the Pueblo Reservoir. It got below freezing, and my +15F sleeping bag was too hot. So far so good. =)

My fresh milk experiment... I'm keeping it drinkable at room temperature by turning it into keifer. This way I'll have fresh milk when I'm backpacking... at least that's the theory!
